Lori began a path in healthcare her senior year in high school becoming certified as an EMT-A. Knowing she wanted to continue in the field she went on to earn her Bachelors of Art degree in Psychology from the University of Iowa. Hearing of thebeauty Portland had to offer she packed up and headed west. After experiencing a very spiritual connection to massage she decided to continue her journey at East- West College of Healing Arts to earn her certificate and license in massage therapy.
Discovering Myofascial Release during her massage therapy studies she saw and felt first-hand the power of emotional cellular release. This prompted her to spend time over the next two years in Hawaii and Arizona working directly with John F. Barnes, world-renowned authority, visionary and author, to become an Advanced Myofascial Release Practitioner. When able to access this area, deep healing of past traumas stuck within our emotional cellular memory may surface and release. This therapy has helped her work through the most impactful tragedy of her life. As a result she hopes to bring that same powerful healing to anyone who is a survivor of physical and emotional trauma.
Through her education and experience, Lori uses Deep Tissue, Swedish Massage, adult and infant Craniosacral Therapy, Myofascial Release, Polarity Therapy and Acupressure to work with each client's individual needs. Her specialties include chronic pain therapy, scar tissue release, abdominal work, headache treatments, pelvic balancing, deep tissue therapy, pregnancy and relaxation massage. She also holds a certification in Pregnancy Massage.
Since the beginning of her career in 2001 Lori has worked diligently to bring the best possible therapeutic care to each and every person she works with, as well as spending time addressing at-home self-care to maintain the benefits of each session. Continuing to learn and be humbled by the potential in this field for health and wellness, she looks forward to becoming a member of your healthcare team.
