Ayurveda

Ayurveda (“ire-veh-dah”), an ancient healing science from India, is one of the world’s oldest medical systems. It aims to integrate and balance the body, mind, and spirit. Ayurveda focuses not only on the treatment and prevention of illness, but on the removal of blockages to experiencing a more vibrant, peaceful, and happy life. Some of its therapeutic approaches include diet, herbs, yoga, breathing, sweating, and massage.

In the transcendent state of bliss, deep transformation and healing can occur.  These Ayurvedic therapies are heavenly as one-time treatments, though they are traditionally given multiple times in a course, and we believe their benefits are greatly enhanced when received in a series.

You will slip into a state of deep relaxation on our memory foam tables and face cradles, both outfitted with ultra-soft linens. At the end of your massage, you will be treated to a hot towel cleanse for your feet and a hot towel stretch for your neck. After your experience is complete, your therapist will greet you with cool water to promote hydration and will be present for you to ask questions or offer suggestions for self-care.

For all our clients receiving full body massages, facials, or spa packages we provide a locker for your personal belongings, a robe, and spa sandals.  Additionally, bath, body, hair, and skincare products are also available.  Our steam rooms and rain showers are available for use before or after your treatments.  (Please note shower and steam room availability is dependent upon current covid protocols and may change without notice.)

We look forward to offering our space, our presence, and our energy for you to become your most vibrant, centered, and peaceful self.

Bliss Therapies

Abhyanga

An Ayurvedic (traditional Indian) massage that utilizes warm oils chosen specifically for your constitution, and choreographed patterns designed to circulate energy and clear blockages.

The skin is fed generous amounts of oil from head to toe — as it is considered to penetrate, lubricate, nourish, and soothe our deepest parts. Compared to traditional Swedish massage, Abhyanga focuses less on the muscles and more on the skin, lymphatic and circulatory systems, marma points (the Ayurvedic equivalent of acupuncture points) and nadis (energy channels).

A balance of invigorating, relaxing, and detoxifying techniques. This massage is traditionally done with the chest undraped, but (based on your preference) can easily be modified with the chest covered and achieve the same divine benefits.

60 minutes –  $138

*Arrive early to take a short prakruti quiz to determine the optimal essential oil blend for you.

The Ayurvedic term prakruti means the physical and mental constitution you were born with, which can be expressed as a combination of three imbalancing qualities called doshas in Sanskrit (literally “flaws”). All foods, influences, and behaviors tend to move us either toward or away from balance. These oils are chosen for their ability to balance or subdue your predominant doshas.

Ayurvedic Skin Brushing (Garshana) and Medicated Oil Treatment

Illuminate your skin and invigorate circulation with a full body scrub performed with a plant fiber brush. Dry skin brushing makes your skin clearer and more resilient, and promotes detoxification through the skin and lymphatics. It’s also surprisingly energizing and refreshing to the spirit. After your body brushing is complete you will be anointed with one of our hand-crafted Ayurvedic oil blends that is in alignment with your constitution (prakruti).  Instructions on dry brushing along with your bristle brush will be waiting for you at the end of your experience to take home. 30 minutes – $65

Shirodhara

Expand your awareness and quiet the mind in a profound way. A gentle stream of warm oil flows continuously on the forehead throughout this treatment. You will drift into complete tranquility as your body and mind surrender to deep relaxation. In Ayurvedic medicine, shirodhara treatment is considered to balance the mind, open the third eye, awaken intuition, nourish the brain, and promote free flow of prana (life force) through the nadis (energetic channels). 30 minutes – $95

The Full Bliss Immersion

All four Ayurvedic bliss treatments in one incredible session. You begin with garshana – dry skin brushing with raw silk gloves to exfoliate, open the pores, and invigorate circulation. The open surface of the body is then treated to a generous quantity of oil (sneha) to deeply penetrate and lubricate your system. The abhyanga massage is a choreographed dance of hands to calm the nervous system, awaken the organs, and balance energy flow. Next is swedana, in which you will be warmed in our steam tent (your head is kept out of the tent so you don’t get overheated) to further loosen your tissues, encourage detoxification, and promote penetration of the oil. Then you’ll be guided into the deepest meditative state through shirodhara, in which oil is poured in a continuous stream of patterns over your forehead.
Your treatment concludes with a foot bath of your choice in our Sangha room to bring you gently back into the world. We suggest taking the rest of the day to enjoy the harmony of your body, mind, and spirit. (See individual treatment descriptions for more details.)  Approximately 3.5 hours – $408

This package includes: Constitutional Intake, Garshana, Abhyanga, Swedana, Shirodhara, Foot Bath (you may choose an Aromatherapy massage as an alternative to the Abhyanga massage)
